Bal-Last Interlocking Systems™ are a reliable way to secure lightweight grinder pump basins against buoyant forces from groundwater. These basins, typically made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE), are made to resist corrosion and provide superior longevity and are designed to be easily transported and installed. Groundwater occurs in seasonal conditions or in areas near existing water bodies. Sites that have fluctuating water tables from seasonal changes or flooding conditions are prime locations for Bal-Last. Uplift forces can otherwise damage the pump chamber and piping connections. Improper installation voids typical manufacturer’s warrantees. Bal-Last Interlocking Systems provide additional and immediate ballast to manufacturer’s lightweight stations. Bal-Last systems are especially beneficial in active groundwater installations and fully saturated soil conditions.
